WELCOME

True Home Mindfulness Community is a Thich Nhat Hanh – Plum Village Tradition sangha located in West Michigan. We practice mindful living to become more calm and aware, and to extend greater understanding and compassion to all beings.

Welcome to the True Home Mindfulness Community

We are grateful that your journey has guided you here.

Established in 2026 in the tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hahn and practicing in the Plum Village Tradition of Buddhism, our community encourages the blooming of understanding and love in every moment and with every breath.

We openly and warmly welcome the diversity of your experience to this place of refuge and healing – wherever you come from, however you look or identify, whomever you love.

As you navigate our site, we hope you will feel the interconnectedness that Thich Nhat Hanh embodied—a reminder that we are all waves in the same vast ocean of life. Our practices, teachings, and gatherings reflect this philosophy, nurturing peace within ourselves and extending it outward to all beings.

Belonging to our Mindfulness community is to choose a journey that can be as light or as profound as you desire. Together we practice:

Peace and Healing

In challenging times we offer one another the space to cultivate understanding and compassion.

Ease

The gentle release of our worries about the future or regrets about the past, allowing us to settle into a serene acceptance of the present.

Connection

A time to be with others who walk the path of mindful living.

Mindfulness

The foundation practice that enhances our awareness and appreciation of the present moment, grounding us in the here and now with every breath and every step.

Concentration

As we learn to nurture a steady focus that allows for clarity of mind and singularity of purpose, a skill that enriches both meditation and daily life.

Insight

Through mindful observation and reflection, we develop profound understandings of the nature of our thoughts and experiences.

The past no longer is, the future is not yet here; there is only one moment in which life is available, and that is the present moment. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh, Fear, Essential Wisdom for Getting through the Storm
